Championship Event
The standard main event, consisting of 4 Qualifiers of four hamsters each.
Three laps, ( 42 hamster furlongs ), first & second place go through to the next stage.
Two Semi-finals, and once again first & second place go through to the Final stage.
A Steward is appointed for the Final.
The Steward takes Bouncy Bob in his right hand and swears The Oath.
There are four Hamsters in The Final – racing over 4 laps ( 56 hf. )
winner takes all. (unless it is a sponsored race with 1st,2nd,3rd & 4th place prizes)
The Novice Race (Maiden Stakes)
Eight Runners
A team of eight Baby Hamsters ( Novices ), raced over 2 semis and a Final.
This race must be raced before 10.30pm ( the baby hamsters’ bedtimes )
One winner takes all, ( even at this stage in their career )
The EnduroHamster 500
Sixteen Runners
A test this time, not of speed, but of Strength, Speed, Stamina, True Grit & Determination
Sixteen Hamsters, racing at the same time, each powered by the cheapest of AAA batteries,
battle for the title.
The EnduroHamster 500 is played out until nearly all the batteries are exhausted, with the last hamster moving being the winner. Four Hamsters in each lane, this race requires a ‘rolling start’; the Hamsters are set off within 20 seconds of each other, and once they are all running steadily, the flag is waved and the EnduroHamster 500 is officially under way.
There are only two rules in Enduro;
Rule #1- If a fast Hamster starts ‘nudging’ a slower Hamster from behind, the Steward
or UnStable Lad will momentarily lift the slow Hamster off the track in order to let the
faster one pass by.
Rule #2- Each Hamster is allowed one ‘Prod’ ( a technical term ) the first time they stop.
This ‘Prod’ is administered by the Steward or the UnStable Lad, ( by hand or non-electrical device ), and only by them. The ‘Prod’ is duly noted for each hamster,
and the next time that one stops, he is deemed to be retired from the event.
